Hallowed Ground Walking Tour

Please join us for our October program presented by the Cromwell Historical Society.
This year we will explore the burial plots of some of the original stock holders of the cemetery.

There will also be a photo contest (October 15th-23rd) sponsored by the Cromwell Art Alliance (see details below)

Get your cameras and cell phones ready. In keeping with our commitment to encourage and support all art forms in our community, the Cromwell Arts Alliance is holding its first annual photography contest. It’s open to all ages. The theme is “Rest in Peace”. All photo submitted must be taken in the Cromwell Hillside Cemetery between October 15th and October 23rd. Prizes of $50 will be awarded to the winning photographers in each of these four categories: History, Peacefulness, Uniqueness and Nature. Official entry forms and contest details can be found on the CAA website (Cromwellartsalliance.org) and the Cromwell Hillside Cemetery website (Cromwellhillsidecemetery.org). Photographers may enter up to three photos. The entry deadline is Monday, November 7th. All submissions should be emailed to [email protected] or an 8x10 print can be mailed to “CAA”, c/o Rosemary Matus, 4 Blackhaw Dr. Cromwell, CT. Winners will be announced on Monday, November 21st 2022.
(Note: There will be a Cromwell Historical Society walking tour sponsored by the Cromwell Hillside Cemetery Association at the cemetery on October 16th, 1:00pm. Some photographers may want to check that out).
